American Beauty and Citizen Kane similarity

I highly recommend that you watch this films mainly because they're both hilarious and awesome.
Citizen Kane was about a man who became extremely rich when he was a little boy but that only happened because hes mother signed him over to the bank and thats how the movie started. American Beauty is one of the best films I'd ever seen and thats because of the way the played it out, In the beging the main character (Lester) said that he was going to die so you know how its going to end but when the end came it was sad and touching like you wish that this should have never had happen. Same for the main character (Charles Foster Kane) you see him die and its whatever until he says rosebud striking a sense of who or what is rosebud turns out it was a sled that he carried in that scene when he was a kid.

Both movies I can say is similar because both main character strive to find what they had lost Kane's childhood and love Lester's teen years the man quite his job to work at a burger joint bought  a shiny red car played games and worked out at home as if nothing mattered he became my hero as well as that neighbor boy became his it toke a lot of guts to do that. Kane was anice person at first but then money toke over he ran a newspaper business married twice and tried to buy everyone affection with stupid things all because his mom and dad didn't show hem any.

The whole movie was based on some reporters trying to find the meaning of rosebud and throughout the film American Beauty rose's appeared every time the man dreamed or if something was desired the color as well played a role red being the color of danger or bad every time they argue rose's appeared real or animated. When Lester got shot and his brains flew out red appeared so did the flowers. Citizen Kane was filmed in black and white so no distinct colors but I noticed somethings in each storie that the guy or girl they interview he looked older and bitter like nothing else mattered.
